Upon entering the world of packaging, Jeremy Deller was immediately struck by the sheer, hidden complexity behind every box that lands on a doorstep. Joining the team in Raleigh, NC, gave him a front-row seat to the cross-departmental choreography required to move a project from a concept to a customer’s warehouse. He quickly realized that the packaging industry was a massive, interconnected engine, and his internship was the key that unlocked his understanding of how those gears turned. This high-level view of the operation became the foundation of his career, as he spent his early days collaborating with everyone from production floor managers to logistics coordinators to see how thoughtful design decisions create efficiency and value across the entire operation.

The leaders at the Raleigh plant intentionally foster a culture where collaboration is a core part of the daily operation. Jeremy found that his growth accelerated because his supervisors and mentors empowered him with the true ownership of his work, going far beyond standard assignments. This supportive environment provided a vital bridge to his full-time role, offering him a safety net to ask difficult questions while pushing him to lead.

As Jeremy puts it, “Pratt gave me the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of real projects. That hands-on experience helped me build confidence, develop new skills, and better understand how my work directly impacts the business.” By the time his internship drew to a close, the transition to a permanent member of the team felt less like a leap into the unknown and more like a natural progression of the work he was already mastering.

Today, as a Sales Representative, Jeremy navigates the competitive landscape of the Carolinas with the poise of a veteran, leveraging the deep industry knowledge he established during his internship. “My internship at Pratt gave me hands-on experience and real responsibility, which made the transition to full-time feel seamless,” he reflects.

Having spent months working in the plant, Jeremy sells the reliability of the teams he knows personally. When meeting a prospective client, he draws on the fundamental insights he gained to demonstrate the synergy between departments, speaking with a depth that goes far beyond a standard script. “It gave me a full picture of how everything comes together,” Jeremy says, “and helped me better understand how each department plays a role in the overall operation.” That deep-seated knowledge of the inner workings of Pratt is exactly what allows him to build trust with customers, giving him the technical authority that only comes from firsthand experience with the production process.
