The U.S. Government has named Pratt Industries' Conyers-based trucking fleet as a SmartWay Transport Partner in recognition of its efforts to protect the environment.
The Environmental Protection Agency honored Pratt for its commitment to reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions and improving fuel efficiency of its ground freight transportation. The Conyers' fleet has increased fuel efficiency by 12 percent since launching the SmartWay initiative just a few months.
The voluntary partnership between the freight industry sector and the EPA aims to prevent between 33 and 66 million tons of CO2 emissions a year by 2012, as well as save 150 million barrels of oil annually
